 Mercury Rev

Jonathan sings!

Like that other slightly more famous Jonathan, the one who founded the Modern Lovers, Jonathan Donahue is one of the true innocents of rock, a writer and performer who uses his art to advance a positive mindset, and while everything he does is essentially about him, its purpose is to enlighten and enliven in a way that goes beyond normal entertainment. During Mercury Rev's headlining set at the Red Marquee, while films laden with philosophical quotes were projected behind him, Donahue, with his pageboy cut and impeccable posture, glowed with such confidence that it infused his symphonic psychedelia. Mercury Rev may make the happiest rock music in the world.
Tonight the stars are mine
